Spain and Swedish Eurovision Cocktail Recipe
Whether its to celebrate Eurovision or you’re throwing a party. This cocktail combines both Swedish and Spanish flavours for a well balanced tasty drink with a kick of caffeine to keep you up all night long during Eurovision (even through the voting segment)
How to make a cocktail Swedish/Spanish
There’s a few ways to make a cocktail fit the theme of a country.
You could make it look like the country. Check out this Ukraine cocktail for an example of just that. It’s colours match the Ukraine flag, blue and yellow.
You could also garnish the cocktail with something that would suit a country. Like this Eurovision cocktail that represents the UK garnished with English strawberries and mint.
The last option is to use ingredients and flavours that represent that country. Which is actually what we’re doing with this cocktail made easy by Flävar - A Swedish Schnapps brand infused with Swedish flavours and Spanish Rum.
A kick of caffeine
The cocktail itself is similar in theory to an Espresso Marini. In fact, it uses an Espresso Martini formula but with a few tweaks.
That espresso, that kick of caffeine is going to keep you from stretching and yawning through the end of Eurovision. So even if you over do it on the dancing during the performances, you’ll still have the energy to keep going.
As for the tweaks I mentioned. I’ve replace the vodka with Spanish dark rum and the coffee liqueur for salted caramel schnapps.
I’ve also swapped out the standard martini glass for a rocks glass and the boring 3 coffee bean garnish with something more indulgent. A full sized dime bar.
All of that gives this cocktail a rich salted caramel flavour which is bloody well delicious.

Salted Caramel Flävar
But more about that Swedish Schnapps Flävar.
Each of these Eurovision cocktails will use one of the 5 flavours of Flävar. This one will use salted caramel.
It’s such tasty liquid and the fact that it’s clear gives it much more versatility then you would usually get with a similar liqueur or schnapps.
I also used this is my Italian Flag shot recipe which is perfect for Eurovision. So if you’re picking up a bottle, check out that recipe as well.
