What Cookware does Gordon Ramsay use at home

What's in Gordon Ramsays Kitchen?

Ever wondered what kitchen tools, cookware, dinnerware and kitchen appliances the famous chef extraordinaire Gordon Ramsay uses?

Well wonder no more! I’ve done some digging, checked out the videos and delved deep into it all to compile this list of all the most important parts of Gordon Ramsays cooking.

And yes, before you ask, I am that sad that I’ve done some serious research into this. I’ve gone full stalker mode and although I can’t promise it’s 100% accurate, from what I’ve already found on google, this is the closest and most accurate list you’re going to get.

So if you want your kitchen to be kitted out just like Gordon Ramsay’s, then you’re in the right place.

#1 The Mixing Bowl

As far as mixing bowls go, Gordon Ramsay uses the Rayware Mason Cash Can mixing bowl. Which funnily enough is the exact same one they use on The Great British Bake Off.

I know that because I did a full article covering the kitchen equipment used in The Great British Bake Off. So this was an easy one, once you see that bowl you will instant recognize it. It’s used by pretty much all the top TV chefs.

You want to talk about my detective skills? That right there above, that’s Gordon Ramsay inside his own home kitchen mixing in this exact Rayware Mason Cash Can mixing bowl. Which has propped up a lot in videos of him cooking at home.

Where to get the original Rayware mixing bowl;

#2 The Pots and Pans Used On Masterchef

When on Masterchef and Masterchef UK, Gordon Ramsay uses the brand ScanPan for his pots and pans.

They’re a bit more of a luxury purchase as pans go but definitely worth the money, especially if you want the Gordon Ramsay kitchen.

They are super high quality pots and pans made to last and made for the perfect heat distribution and cooking. The good news is that you wont need a lot of them. Just 3 will do, the first being this 20cm frying pan

$90.92 amazon.com

They might well be a bit of a luxury, but they are bloody brilliant as far as pans go.

I’ll tell you one thing, they will sure last a lifetime.

Scanpan Saute Pan

£151.45 amazon.co.uk

$199.95 amazon.com

After you’ve got yourself a good frying pan, the next pan to get is a saute pan with a lid.

For Gordon Ramsay, once again Scanpan is the best option. Gordon Ramsay uses ScanPan saute pans. In fact, as far as my research goes, he uses this very one.

Scanpan Saucepan with Lid

£143.20 amazon.co.uk

$127.85 amazon.com

So what saucepan does Gordon Ramsay use? Gordon Ramsay uses the Scanpan Saucepan with Lid.

This also happens to be the last pan essential you need on the list, this is your larger pan with a lid, something ideal for soups, stews or sauces.

#3 The Pans Used In Gordon Ramsay Home Kitchen

As mentioned above, ScanPan is what Gordon Ramsay uses for masterchef. For everyday use, Gordon Ramsay’s home kitchen is stocked with HexClad.

This is the company he swears by, if you go watch any videos of him cooking in his own home, these are the pots and pans you will see and if you visit the HexClad website you will see they make the absolute most of this by plastering his face all over. Even on the Amazon listing they use his face.

Where there is HexClad you better believe theres Gordon’s face.

HexClad

£399.99 amazon.co.uk

$379.99 amazon.com

Now I ain’t going to lie, if you thought ScanPans were expensive, you might want to look away now.

HexClad is a very premium brand that comes with a very premium price.

However, they are some of the best pans you can get, they are good to have, and they will last a life time.

You can get the best price for these pans on Amazon where you can get this set of 3.

They get high reviews and hey, if its good enough for Gordon Ramsay’s home kitchen, they must be pretty good right?

Also buying them in a set like this dramatically lowers the price. almost 400 quid might seem like a lot but that’s around 133 quid per pan.

Pretty decent considering the quality.

HexClad Frying Pan

£134.99 amazon.co.uk

$139.99 amazon.com

If those pans are too expensive or you don’t want to commit to the whole set and instead just want one piece, I’d recommend the HexClad frying pan.

It’s the one pan Gordon uses more than any other and the best to go for.

#4 The Knives

The knives gordon Ramsay uses at home.

Henckels knives

£180.85 amazon.co.uk

$123.54 amazon.com

Gordon says a small collection of high quality sharp knives is better than drawers full of dull, second-rate ones.

His favourite knife brand and the ones he uses at home? Henckels.

These are the only knives Gordon Ramsays says you should need:

  • Chef’s knife for chopping.

  • Paring knife for peeling cutting small vegetables and fruit.

  • Boning knife with a flexible blade to cut around meat and bone.

  • Serrated or bread knife.

Finished with not a knife, but a good pair of shears.

Now when I found out these are the knives Gordon Ramsay uses, I was elated because these are the same brand of knives I use.

In-fact, I reviewed them in the past right here on Smartblend. Check out my review here. I love these knives, honestly it sounds ridiculous but I never new how easy a good set of knives will make your life in the kitchen.

That being said my old knives were cheap, dull, old mismatched knives that my mum gave me when I first moved home. One of them literally broke when I was trying to cut a sweet potato, so the bar wasn’t high... But still, I love these knives.

My partner once had to go to A&E due to almost losing a finger washing them and although that sounds like a con not a pro, its a showcase of how sharp they are.

Not to mention that was after about 6 months of owning them, still as sharp as the day we first perfectly sliced a tomato.

Royal Doulton Gordon Ramsay

£113.38 amazon.co.uk

$107.42 amazon.com

If all this seems a little on the expensive side, well, its Gordon Ramsay, what did you expect? For real though, if it seems expensive Gordon Ramsay does have his own brand of knives with the Royal Doulton.

Much more affordable and has his seal of approval.

#5 The Chopping Board

See that little chopping board in Gordon Ramsay’s home kitchen? Yep, Boos block, but not just any Boos Block, its this exact one. I should work for the police with this investigative power of finding out what’s in peoples kitchen…

Boos Block

£161.69 amazon.co.uk

$199.95 amazon.com

Something we see a lot in all the cooking shows and all the masterclasses, not just from Gordon Ramsay but from any chef, is the chopping board.

Often however, it largely goes unnoticed. We’re hugely intrigued by what’s on the chopping board and the knives being used, but the board itself? meh, we don’t care.

However, a good chopping board will go a long way. Cheap chopping boards either break or are just a massive inconvenience.

For a good chopping board, you want something with plenty of space, at least 20 inches, which wont give out on you.

The chopping board brand Gordon Ramsay uses is John Boos Block.

Boos Blocks are Butcher block styled chopping boards made in the USA with high quality sustainably sourced, hand-selected Northern Hard Rock Maple Wood.

They don’t slip around and last a long time, you can even get special Boos butcher block mystery oil to keep your chopping board in tip top shape for as long as possible.

#6 The Salt

Maldon Salt

£9.99 amazon.co.uk

$10.98 amazon.com

Okay, so not really a ‘kitchen tool’ or appliance, however its interesting nonetheless.

When I was researching for this topic I found something stating the fact that Gordon Ramsay uses the British artisan salt Maldon.

On Maldons website they say “The unique pyramid shape of our flakes is our company trademark and is as distinctive as the taste of the salt itself. Chefs and cooks everywhere love the tactile texture of Maldon Salt. Always a pinch of inspiration.”

Now the reason I thought this was interesting is because in every restaurant i’ve ever worked in, this is the exact same salt they use, which i’ve never thought twice about.

So seeing Gordon use the same salt perked some interest to me.

That statement of there’s ‘Chefs and cooks everywhere love the tactile texture of Maldon Salt.” is something which I can first hand say is true. Chefs love this stuff.
