3 Christmas Gin Cocktails With Amarula Gin

Looking for some gin based cocktails for your Christmas party this year? I’ve got you covered with 3 options covering an array of tastes that you can enjoy.

A very sunny christmas cocktail with blue tones and wrapping paper.

Christmas is right around the corner and after a quick google search for tasty tipples to enjoy this winter season, you’ve probably discovered that a lot of them have dark spirit bases. Which is great and all, I mean, I love a good hot toddy this time for year. Who doesn’t?

But what if you, like myself, and like many other, enjoy gin? Are we suppose to swap our drinking preferences just because the season has changed? And what if we still want to enjoy a summery cocktail? Is that sacrilegious? bah humbug!

You don’t have to be a scrooge to enjoy Gin at Christmas. That’s all I’m saying. And I’m thrilled to show you how with my 3 new serves created to be enjoyed at Christmas with that glorious botanical base we all do love so so much. Gin.

Seasonal Cocktails With Gin

Gin actually works great for all seasons. With juniper at its base, it’s a flavour that is easily paired with everything from passionfruit to cinnamon, summer to winter, spring to autumn. It’s one of the many reasons I love gin.

Winter warmers especially work great. A shot of gin in a mulled cider is heaven. Not to mention it makes the perfect gift right? So if you’re a gin lover and you’re expecting your yearly top up of gin, these 3 cocktails are ones to get prepared for so you can go from tearing open wrapping paper to sipping on something seasonal within minutes of seeing you’ve received a bottle gin.

And if you’re gifting a bottle of gin this year, I have the perfect one to consider. Amarula gin.

Amarula Gin

Amarula african gin bottle next to a blue cocktail and open papaya on a table.

Amarula is an African gin made with the marula fruit. It’s the first gin ever to be made with the marula fruit so it’s a really unique sipper. What’s interesting about this gin is that it has a really exotic flavour. Juniper berries, orange peel and blossom, and Ghanaian grains of paradise are steeped for 24 hours in the complex, yet delicate marula spirit and later gently distilled in a pot still.

So it’s perfect for those light, crisp cocktails. Yet that contrast between the exotic flavours and wintery flavours really works great.

It’s also the gift that gives back. The Amarula Trust was originally set up to safeguard the African elephant – vital to the marula fruit harvest – and preserve the legacy of its local communities. Amarula’s charitable function is framed under the Giving as One campaign which splits its work into three main pillars: elephant conservation, empowering people, and strengthening local communities. For every litre of gin they sell, they donate £1 to the trust. So by purchasing Amarula for someone’s Christmas present, you’re ending the year on a charityable note.

Much like the good people who enjoy amarula gin, elehpants really enjoy munching on the marula fruit you see. So protecting those elephants is vital.

As a side note, do elephants munch? Or should I say elephants really enjoy “swallowing” the marula fruit? Do they even have teeth? I don’t think I’ve ever seen an elephant tooth but surely if they eat fruit they need teeth right?..

Anyway, you can find out more about Amarula gin here

If you want to gift this gin to a gin lover in your life (even if that gin lover is yourself) I recommend amazon. They have an official store on amazon so it’s coming straight from them, its currently at a 11% discount and you can get it on prime, so you know damn well it will arrive on time. Check it out here.

Below are those cocktails and whilst you get to sipping, I’m going to get to googling to see if elephants have teeth.
