5 Budget Friendly Fall Ideas and Activities For Kids and Toddlers
Autumn/Fall is upon us once more. Which means spending a lot of weekends staying inside trying to keep warm. And for all you parents out there, you have the added pleasure of having a bored child to entertain.
The problem is, we’re already trying to save money on heating and food, so wouldn’t it be great if we had some budget friendly, cheap and cheerful activities to keep all those little ones content whilst at the same time, sneakily teaching them about Fall?
Well, that’s why you’re here!
Classroom Activities
Oh, and don’t think for a second I’ve forgotten about all those teachers wanting to go the extra mile for the kids and give them something seasonal to do in the classroom. This goes for you too.
#1 Fall Decorations
Putting up Autumnal/Fall decorations is a great way to get into the spirit of autumn.
What’s even better is when that decorating can be a little bit more on the crafting side.
Fall Bunting
Check out this bunting you can get on Etsy…
It’s print at home which is why it’s so cheap for all 4 sets. And the beauty is, you can cut each piece, line up your string and have the little ones hang up the bunting wherever they want.
And because it’s print at home, you can print as much or little as you’d like.
You could even cut out a ring base from cardboard then get them to stick all the woodland bunting bits to the ring to create an Autumnal wreath like this…
There’s quite a lot you can do to get crafting with those bunting bits.
Fall Wall Art
After that, my suggestion is wall art. Once again going with the digital print-at-home option means you can print as much or little as you want and save money on the printing and delivery.
All of the above wall art AND that entire bunting set can be purchased together at a discount right here on Smartblend. Check it out below.
#2 Scavenger Hunt
Another fun activity for when you do leave the house is to do this fall scavenger hunt which teaches kids about autumn whilst making a fun little trip out to your local wooded area.
Feel free to print that off and use it as you want.
It’s actually part of another fall bundle I did which perfectly leads me into the next Autumn idea.
#3 Autumn Puzzles, Games, Activities
The best kind of activities for kids are the ones that are going to A) teach them about fall, B) keep them busy, and C) keep them quiet.
So I’ve put together an entire bundle of 21 different puzzles, games, and activities that you can instantly download and play right from your phone, tablet, or print off to go old school - paper and pen.
This is also when we start getting into the territory of fall activities that are great for classrooms. So teachers, take note.
#4 Fall Child-Friendly Arts and Crafts
Our last idea is going to be arts and crafts. This can be as simple as giving your child some paint brushes and getting them to paint a conker, leaf, or pine cone.
Or a favourite of mine - Handprint art.
And you wouldn’t believe it, I’ve only gone and put together another pack of printable templates. This time, it’s an entire pack of handprint arts and crafts templates ready to print.
So there we go, 4 budget-friendly ideas perfect for keeping your child busy this autumn/fall season. Perfect for moms, dads, grandparents and teachers.
