Non-alcoholic Lychee Mocktail
Looking for a delicious non-alcoholic cocktail recipe that’s fruity, complex and tropical with a refreshing sparkling soda top? Check out my Lychee and lime Fizz cocktail recipe below! The perfect alcohol-free tipple to brighten your day.
Non-alcoholic cocktails are something that have been a main focus of mine for awhile now. Especially as more and more people are choosing mindful drinking and the sober life.
Whether its going fully alcohol free or being sober curious, either way people are thinking about there drinking habits more then ever before. With lockdown and a global pandemic in the midst, it’s making people question there drinking habits even more.
And where there is the questioning of drinking habits, there’s the questioning of booze intake. Which often leads to people cutting down on said alcohol intake.
However…
Just because for one reason or another you’re choosing to cut down on your alcohol, does not mean you have to sacrifice high quality cocktails. Saying goodbye to alcohol does not mean saying goodbye to the flavour and more importantly, cocktails.
Non-alcoholic cocktails
It’s true, that just a mere 3 years ago, non-alcoholic cocktails where something overly sweet with little to no complexity in which you take a boozy cocktail, remove the alcohol and serve it as it is. A mock of a cocktail, or as they where referred to as - mocktails.
When you remove the alcohol from a cocktail the whole drink becomes unbalanced, which is why this system of removing booze from a cocktail to make it non-alcoholic just does not work.
These days however, there is a big industry focus on creating non alcoholic cocktails that are just as complex, flavoursome and crafty as there alcoholic counterparts. With the help of non-alcoholic brands such as Seedlip who are creating a variety of complex “spirits” without the booze.
Mindful Drinking
Remember, Mindful drinking isn’t just about going alcohol-free, it’s about thinking about what and why you’re drinking. Which often means just cutting down on the booze.
So if you like this drink and do want to booze it up, feel free to add a splash of gin to the mix or replace the Seedlip entirely for Gin. Instead of 50ml of Seedlip, you could try 25ml Seedlip and 25ml London dry gin for a low ABV mindful cocktail.
